It’s what drives us in one way or another. I love construction sites. They are rich with metaphor and speak to me on a spiritual level. I was on my way to pick up my girls at school when I drove by someones new project. Stopped the car. Paused the schedule. Wandered around… present moment, beautiful moment. Briefly, there was no such thing as time…

Dreaming. Creating. Never quitting. Doing, doing and doing the right thing with no attachment to an outcome. Day after day. Unwavering commitment to quality. That’s what many small businesses are about. Like mine (escardaphoto.com) and like the people at the #Fiddlershop. Fedex Small Business Grant Contest Award Winners 2018. What an adventure this project was. Client:┬áLaurie Lundquist (Artist, Sky Wave Bridges) and Broward Cultural Division. I know you can appreciate how interesting it is to be at an airport with so many diverse people coming and going. Their gestures and body language speaking volumes and providing limitless opportunity for story-telling. All connected to the passing of time. It is fascinating to watch how all of this takes place in and around these large scale architectural structures at Fort Lauderdale International Airport. This airport is evolving daily and it is amazing to watch at any hour as light flows through […]

Photographing Flowers

Almost everything has its pros and cons, its upside and downside, right? When it comes to photographing flowers, can you think of one downside? I can’t. For me, it was just a parade of beauty, joy and wonder. Each flower and each arrangement magnificent examples of creation, color, texture, design and form. Each one a miracle. Of course, I cannot fail to mention the talented and joyful family that makes flowers their business, Emma Borrell and her family at Kings Creek Florist. It was lovely to be with them.
